~ never ever mistake her silence for weakness.

~ never ever mistake her silence for weakness,

The sultry breeze whispers across the shifting sands, its voice is low and comforts her torn soul. She desperately wants to be happy, to live in every moment with Romulus and to be curled in his embrace even as the dawn breaks. Yet, she finds herself restless and wanders aimlessly across the sands as the darkness begins to fade into the early morning light. She pauses in the morning glow, dark eyes drawn to the distant horizon where the warm globe gently begins to warm the air around her.

Her hooves draw her to a familiar place - just at the ocean's edge - she stands quietly as the surf tugs at her hooves and washes around her ankles. A breath is caught on her lips and she closes her eyes - she can feel it all - the sultry breeze across her rounding belly, the little bounces of her unborn child and the rhythm of the sea. It all dances around her.

She should be happy, yet there is a sadness that tugs at her soul. Romulus made her happier than she could ever honestly remember. But despite her feelings, her body still remains sad and broken. She fears that it would years until she could break from the cycle and truly be free - but by that time, she fears her age would turn the hairs around her eyes grey and silvery strands would streak through her mane. That she would waste the years of her youth on sadness and regret.

Tears prick at the edges of her eyes as the emotions wash over her, overwhelming her suddenly. She sniffles and her sides shake as a few sobs wrack her body, bouncing her growing belly with each sob. She could just push all of these emotions to the side, and blame it on her excessive hormones. But it still felt so raw.

And her question still remains unanswered. Would she ever be able to leave the brokenness behind? And move forward? Silently she hopes and prays that it all would manifest itself. And she could finally leave the hurt in the past and move on.
