Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

bacardi

surrounded
by darkness yet enfolded in light

The sounds of another draw Bacardi’s attention, and manifesting from his imagination stepped a haggard old stallion. His body was lined with scars and his eyes seemed haunted and distant. The words he spoke though, put Bacardi on edge and filled him with confusion. He didn’t understand what the old stallion was talking about. But distant memories became all too fresh and real, when Bozena had taken the Lagoon herd. It was a time in Bacardi’s life he had tried his best to forget. The vengeance the mares sought over his mother, and the time he had strayed from his birth home to try and forget what was all too real. Did he look like one of the men Bozena had taken? Or did his senile mind simply warp him into a different face?

When the old stallion reaches for him, Bacardi knows he cannot stand in silence and hope that whatever is happening will simply go away. He draws back a step, keeping just out of reach, as the shadows further engulf him. “You are mistaken.” He says quietly, lowly; not sure what else he is supposed to say. Bacardi doesn’t want to be cruel, though he is sure that this stallion has served and endured his fair share of cruelty. It would be different, if the roan man was in his right mind.

Bacardi knew he should leave. Should slip back into the shadows and disappear, leaving this bachelor to his memories. Curiosity was a fickle thing. And it still held him firmly in its grasp, bending him to its will and trapping him there instead of returning home where he belonged. “Who is it that you think I am?” he cannot help but ask. For now, his attention fully on the stallion, forgetting to keep an eye on his intimidating surroundings.
