More Fun, More Fun

Last night, it was Dick York on “Alfred Hitchcock Presents.” The episode was “The Dusty Drawer.”

I recognized Dick York, an actor described as “the first Darrin on ‘Bewitched.’” I recognized York from “Bewitched,” but I didn’t watch the show often enough to know if York was the first Darrin or the 21st.

Having seldom watched “Bewitched,” I couldn’t have told you anything about York’s personal life, but Wikipedia says life dealt his a tough hand. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dick_York if you’re interested.

This Hitchcock episode was a dopey sit-com story about York stealing money to get $200 back from someone who had not repaid a loan. It had a common Hitchcock twist, an Aesop’s Fable-style ending where the main characters of the story each got what they deserved.
