Seriously, the world is full of hayseeds... you ARE in the rural belt of America, ya know! Pretty much everything West of St Louis, or maybe even Ohio.
The world is full of hayseeds and so they are pretty popular. You suggesting someone is a hayseed speaks volumes about what you think of YOURSELF, but KC isn't really known for excessive sophistication.
I remember flying once to DC with a stop at ORD and then listening to the Chicagoans grabbing their bags and filing off the plane... they had been trying to impress each other with their big city ways. One guy arrogantly had said at least in Chicago, compared to KC, opera was sung in Italian!
Finally, I'd had enough and reminded them that this flight was continuing on to REAGAN and if they'd stayed, they'd be very disappointed to find out that Washington, NOT Chicago, is actually the capital of the country!
Oddly enough some lifelong Kansas Citians think THIS is the centerpiece of the country, and we can't even get the FFA farmboys to convention here! Replies:
