Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

turn men into beasts

The General was not so daft as to miss the change that was suddenly so apparent. The way she had clung to him when she had returned to the clutches of the Lagoon, he had only thought was due to the fear of change when another had challenged for her. But the way she spoke his name, the way she reacted to his touch, it brought hope to the stallion that nearly made him forget why he had approached her. Warmth crept through him in a way only she could cause; the thoughts of a herd stallion filling his brain just like the first time he had met her. Though he would never act on those thoughts, it often gave him better understanding.

Focus he mentally scolded, listening to the insight that Kvothe freely gave about their son. Everything she said seemed true; he couldn’t find any doubt to her thoughts on why Frey was behaving the way that he was. Only that it wasn’t Kvothe’s fault. He had seen the way that she had longed for her son, and under his own voiced thoughts, they had left him anyways. Tyr had thought it would be good for the boy to be able to stretch his wings without the constant supervision of his dam. Clearly he had been wrong, but then again, he had been right.

“No” Tyr said, giving a small shake of his head, his pale forelock swaying with the motion. “It is not your fault for what has happened. But I do think that you might be right for what he is doing. It seems plausible, anyways.” the stallion commented, thoughtful for a few moments before his attention returned to the red mare. “Even if he is doing this to prove himself, he has still shown a full display of disrespect. I know what my father would have done, but I do not agree with his methods, which leaves me unsure what I should do now.” With every brother watching, if his own son would show disrespect, why should they even bother?

A sigh escaped Tyr, and for a moment, he felt old. The tension in his body made his shoulders feel heavy. Even if he had to give Frey tough love, he would never abandon his son, even though it was clear that was what the young stallion thought had happened when they had gone to Atlantis. Should Frey take the General’s position, Tyr would remain in the Lagoon to carry out his duties as he always had. He would not break apart this family to his son’s foolishness. But could he still give the same loyalties to his brothers if they did not show it to him? Would they prefer the new, hotter, younger blood that clearly wanted to make a name for the Lagoon?

So many thoughts rushed through Tyr’s brain until he felt like he would be smothered with them, the worry clear upon his face.
