Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

JAWS

Thoughts of missing Rade… thoughts that haunted her. They were the ones that would wake her up at night, just to make sure that he was still breathing where he stood beside her. She would wait for the rise and fall of his ribs, wait for the rattling breath in his lungs, and feel better about it. Thoughts of missing him… it was too much to bear. Jaws would miss him for as long as she lived, when he finally left them. She would love him for as long as she lived, and far beyond that too.

To her, he was her sun. He brought the warmth and comfort of the finest summer days, even in the midst of winter. Jaws would bask in it forever, if given the chance. She feels deeply, and around Rade, she doesn’t always feel the need to conceal it. As he lives for now, Jaws would do the same. Living in the moment, existing in the moment and for the moment-- that was how she’d live her life. She would cling to that, just as she clung to the aging boss.

Pulled, like the moon pulls the tides. Jaws tipped her head back, letting go a laugh that played on the summer breeze. Moments most golden, with the golden stallion by her side. A comfort to each other. As Rade pulled ahead of her, Jaws picked up a certain skip in her step. A buck, a laugh, a rolling to her gait. The smoky creature pulled forward, but only to be in stride with him. If she kept pace, exact pace, then neither of them would be a rotten old cripple-- which meant that Rade would still be Rade. The thought process of a child, but she had to hold onto what she could. Jaws couldn’t stand the thought of it, not yet.

As they neared the Falls, as they slowed, Jaws caught her breath. Her words were soft, breathless on the wind. “You know I’ll always love you, right?” She had to say it. She had to say it, maybe more for herself than for Rade himself. It came out of the blue, but the words were soft on her lips. There was so much that she had to thank him for, and Jaws would never have the words.
