Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

The bonniest flower the land has seen

She didn’t know if her small voice would fall upon his ears. Her half-brother was a stallion of the Lagoon, making him a much higher standing than herself. His mother was a precious mare to the General to add to his standing. Grizel…well she was nothing but the General’s daughter. Birthed from a mother that had left only months after she was born. That had not even spent a full year together. The only thing she had to remember her by was the slight Scottish accent to her tongue and her odd split eyes. She missed her mother. At least what she could remember of her. A gentle smile crosses her lips as her brother greets her. At least he was kind enough to acknowledge she was here. She watches the change in his demeanor when she asks her question.

Something was defiantly going on between them. Not that she could really understand the ways of a stallion, but she wanted to try. She had a hope to bring them back together. Ears flick forward as he speaks, her hooves repositioning on the pebbles for better footing. She nods her head at his first comment. Was Frey mad that he didn’t get to go? Why didn’t he go? All she remembers was father shuffling her into the sea with Kiraz and Kvothe. It had taken all her concentration just to cross the sea to the Ridge. If you asked her she believes she nearly drowned on that swim, but father would have never let that happen. They had arrived home not too long ago, but Grizel felt more at ease being back. She couldn’t explain it, but she didn’t feel as comfortable in the Ridge with a bunch of strangers. She spent most of the days hiding when she wasn’t with father.

Frey goes on to complain about his time spent with father. He was still very young so losing a year’s time with their sire could indeed mess with his head. She didn’t quite understand the ‘bitch’ work he speaks of, but she did understand the absence he felt by their dad. Her mouth opens to speak just as a branch snaps nearby. Instinct kicks in and the girl clings to her brother’s side. Her breaths quicken to a rate she finds hard to keep up. Her eyes quickly find the culprit just as Frey does. The young male says he was sorry and Frey was quick with his response. She watches back and forth as the two of them talk, Frey introducing her. That was perfectly find with her because right now she was finding it hard to catch he breath. She is silent for a few moments longer before she glances to her brother.

”You…” She takes a deep, rattled, breath. ”You should tell father that. Tell him you missed him and feel like you lost time with him.” Though she knew Frey would change the words to make them sound more manly, she thinks it was a good idea to explain to their father how he felt. She glances towards the stranger, but quickly looks back to her brother. She was not usually one for small talk with strangers.
