Death of Bandsman Ken (Sully) Sullivan

Our dear friend Ken Sullivan passed away last Friday. Ken enrolled as a Junior Bandsman in 1954 and served in Trieste, Cyprus & Osnabruck. He left the army in 1962. Ken started on cornet but then changed to french horn. He was a very popular member of the band with a great sense of humour. Living down in Dorset we only saw him a couple of times at our reunions. He did however keep in touch with us.
Below is a message from the family.
Peter Swensson.

Hi Peter

Ken (Sully) Sullivan 6/02/1938 - 5/11/2021

We'd like to inform you that Gary's Dad, Ken passed away yesterday around 5pm, 'he just went to sleep'.

Ken had suffered ill health for the last 2 months. He'd spent time in Poole Hospital from a fall and they found 2 chest infections and some pulmonary embolism. He was treated for all these and then went for rehabilitation, for which was going to plan and yesterday he went to sleep in the afternoon and passed away quietly in Wimborne Hospital.

My dad was a true soldier to the end, he was so proud of his two elder grandchildren for taking up music. His granddaughter Tamara plays the oboe and Aaron plays flute. His legacy will live on in them.

Please pass this onto everyone.
