Historic footnote: In Great Britain 5 November is Guy Fawkes Day, celebrating the foiling of the Gunpowder Plot to blow up Parliament. Don't know if they still light bonfires and sing songs, "Please to remember the Fifth of November, the Gunpowder treason and plot/ I see no reason why Gunpowder treason should ever be forgot." Fawkes and his companions were hanged, drawn and quartered.
