Meadow

When Bacardi had called out his challenge to the Lagoon, he was surprised to see the pale stallion he had met before answer the call. To find out he was the Boss was also another weight to carry. But he had not hesitated to collide with the older stallion. To fight as he had intended without holding back. Only when they broke apart, and the young painted stallion saw the wounds he inflicted, did he feel remorse. Whatever knowledge he had wanted to obtain from the old bachelor had gone with him among the trees.


Standing there, Bacardi finally found hesitation. Did he go to claim his prize? Or simply let her stay, while he had gained what he had wanted; recognition? With a harsh shake of his head, Bacardi delved into the bachelors land and found the girl he had challenged for. Escorting her from her home was an awkward feeling Bacardi had never experienced before, since he had never challenged for a mare from another stallion, but he did it all the same. Only, instead of pushing her into the water to take her home to Tinuvel, he stopped in the Meadow. His golden eyes sweeping across the open land before he turned back to her.


The young mare was absolutely stunning with her splash of colors, and he wondered how she had been locked away this long among the men? Bacardi did not know she was a daughter. He didn’t know anything of her. The stallion gave her an awkward smile, though he expected nothing but seething in return. He had been the one to take her from her home, after all. It hadn’t appeared she was a captive.


“My name is Bacardi.” he decided to introduce. “I am Huskarl of the Bay.” The young stallion then waited, hoping that she might offer up something in return.
