As the 2021-2022 off season is just revving up the newest Super Modified division is moving ahead full force. The Inaugural rules meeting for the NE Big-Block Super Modified Series is to be held November 29th, 2021 at New England Motor Racing Supply located in Hollis, NH. New England Motor Racing Supply (NEMRS) caters to dozens of Super Modified Racers in New England from setup work to parts. No one is more in touch with the needs of the Super Modified teams than them. NEMRS has been a huge support system in the formation of the new tour and it seems only fitting to take the next step with their help. Also, the location in Hollis, NH is on par with the idea of limiting travel. The meeting is less than 2 hours away for most future teams.
There will be multiple Items on the agenda. With the rules package being first and foremost. While the NE Big-Block Super Modified Series is designed to be a Big Block Crate division we also don’t want to force all the already cash strapped teams to spend $16,000 straight out of the gate. NEBSMS is considering opening up the motor rules for the first season only. The idea would be to regulate the built motors with a gear rule to give the crates a slight advantage. While the series would be 100% Crate Motors in 2023, we also are hoping to build a tour without alienating long time Super Modified supporters without the financial resources. A complete discussion will be had on all rules deemed controversial and opinions questions and concerns will be heard.
Also on the discussion table is the schedule while there was a preliminary schedule in place there has been an overwhelming amount of response from additional tracks. With hopes of creating an exciting schedule to kick of the new series we are interested in getting feedback from teams on where they would like to race and with how much frequency. This meeting is going to be very crucial in the start of the NE Big-Block Super Modified Series for 2022 and beyond.
The meeting will be held as previously mentioned at New England Motor Racing Supply Inc located at 261 Proctor Hill Rd, Hollis, NH 03049. The meeting will be held at 6:00 pm on Monday November 29th,2021. Also be advised to bring your check book as there will be discounted 2022 NEBSMS License forms available for all interested parties.
