nobody sees, nobody knows

The touch of his lips elicits a sort of calm in her heart that she had been unable to find anywhere else in Paradise, and she leaned into the touch gratefully. She knew that other mares had reacted differently to the sort of trauma that preceded Faelyn's creation - that some hated the touch of men after, that some craved it, and some that never allowed anyone to touch them again.

For her, the abuse at the hands of that nameless man had driven her closer to the Wolf King and the protection that he had offered. It was this unyielding faith in the silver stallion that had led to the creation of Roux; she had been so terrified of moving anywhere that first season after Faelyn that she had needed Rougaru to show her that there was something different, something kinder in this world. When she was near to him, she did not fear the return of the monster of the Falls. Even if the golden beast was able to track her here, she knew that Rougaru would stop such a thing from happening again.

Sonorae breathes out gently at the touch of his lips on her cheek again, and she smiles helplessly. His comments however, return the concern that had driven her to approach back to the forefront of her mind, and as her lashes split to reveal the warm brown gaze beneath, worry swirls in its depths.

"You've been busy," she murmurs, excusing him. Living with a herd of personalities as bold and loud as Monster and Vanya had only accentuated Sonorae's quieter nature. She existed in the wake of their existence, bobbing along behind. It was not a bad existence for the gentle girl who did not require much out of life, but it was the sort of life that emphasized blending into the background.

"What is one mare to the importance of the whole herd?" The question slips out before she can stop it, and her heartbeat races. She does not fear retaliation from the gentle wolf, but she knows that it probably doesn't help anything either. The last thing she needed to do was to emphasize the weight of the responsibilities on his shoulders. She pressed her muzzle to his shoulder, almost as if it were an apology, and then turned her worried gaze back up to meet his.

"Besides… you didn't answer the question." Her ears tipped back apprehensively as she pressed the issue. Sonorae didn't like being forceful in anything, but she worried for Rougaru, and she somehow doubted that the overo drappa inquired often as to his well being. She knew that Monster probably would have, given the mare's kindness toward Rae, but Monster had been distant as of late. Someone needed to look after Rougaru the same way that he looked over them.
