The silence between them was deafening. She expected him to be angry at her, but to her surprise he was not. She sensed he was hurt though once she revealed that Fortis was indeed his child. Aallotar had spent the better part of her adult life running from her problems, and after Fearghas left, she albeit became reclusive. She didn't know what to say after she uttered her apology. But she wasn't sure if she was sorry for not telling him, or if she was really telling him she was sorry for the fate that she had given him. "Please," she says quietly. "Yes.' She would not deny Verrat of his son even if it meant exposure to Cullen. "His name is Fortis...for strength. For I have none," she says the last part with a twinge of shame. She steps aside from the curious yellow colt. Fortis wastes no time making introductions, nosing his way under Aallotar's neck to approach Verrat. She hides a smile because this is how he'd always been; forward. She didn't know if it was just who he was meant to be, or from her fiery attitude. She waited patiently so Verrat could introduce himself, hoping the other shoe wouldn't have to drop when she'd have to inform him they were bound to the Lagoon.
