You must not be reading my posts, Jimbo. Again, I talk about issues mostly, I dont' trash individuals except an occasional talk show artist about his/her right wing politics and repeating what he heard on Fox.
Other than Darla's cackle, I dont complain about their voices, but generally about their bosses' decisions whether its music choices or boring content.
I think maybe you dont even read anybody ELSE's comments in here either. Most comments here are complaints about their bosses, not correcting me about how they 'enjoy' radio--a word you misuse often.
Other than a few morning guys, today's radio is like assembly line work. Corporate radio doesnt allow formats to encourage creativity and that's why there are fewer and fewer funnymen in the industry. Today's kids dont know how to be funny, aren't clever and have no sense of timing.
Those people must be working clubs, there not on the radio, fer sure. Captain John 40 years ago at KLEO was funnier than anybody around...he too probably retired but you might have remembered him. And locally Phil and Jeff were funny. The rest at HB were just doing time and call letters, even Dolan and he was the PD. KFDI was pretty good too.
But I think you've lost touch with it, Jim. Why are you so bitter? I had fun, well after I got into the nitch of TV field reporting. That was more interesting than fun. Well once in awhiile. As everybody knows in broadcasting, out of ten tasks we had to do, only one or two of em each day were actually fun. The rest of it was just assembly-line work filling time between commercials.
I still stand by my observations of the industry and I think most agree. Dunno what planet you're from! Maybe its' been too long since you worked in corporate media and you forgot. Replies:
