Duck, Duck, Goose!

There is a smile from their friend and matriarch. Those eyes were oddly indifferent though. Confusion; somber? Mostly somber Goose would figure in his thoughts. Heartache would come. It always did. Eventually though; it would end as it always did. Goose was sure of this as always. Goose knew that Loire would return. She would search and then, perhaps she would come home in hopes that they were here. This time; Goose and Riddler would be here. There is no intention of leaving again. Perhaps a promise that they would need to prove and they would. Goose is sure of this. Wandering is not for him. Wandering had never been for him and Goose knew that Riddler had never been satisfied out there. Always nervous the boy had been. Riddler had searched across the landscape and moved with skittish movements every now and then. No, Riddler had not been satisfied with being out there.

Home. This was home. The Bay was home. No. It was a place. Valka and the others were home. Family and friends. All family and all friends. They created bonds that could not be broken. Not anymore. Goose left but he came back. Each time that he'd left. Goose always came home because this was where he felt to be belonging. Goose had nowhere else that he'd rather call home. His whole existence was here and nothing less. So much more in time perhaps but he is content here. Comforted in the presence of his friend in this time of somber recognition.

"I will not go again." Goose murmurs. His voice is clear and precise. There is no need to leave again. Searching would only turn up empty locations. Goose knew that they had to wait for Loire to come home or she would leave again in search of them. Goose is sure of this and doesn't worry. There is concern of her well being but he knew that at some point; she would come home. As they did. Loire too would come home. Of this; Goose truly believes. His heart tells him that there is nothing wrong in his thoughts. Time. There is always time and one must wait for it.

"Ah but perhaps much has changed my friend. Through growth of us all. You've grown as much as Riddler or myself. Through love and compassion. Strength and hope. Courage. That fire inside only grows."

True enough Goose knew. Then....there is mention of the Lagoon and she having forced them to answer for what they had done. A smile flits to his lips. Goose had always known that Valka had a heart for fight. Not for anger and hatred though. There had to be a balance right? Valka like he; fought for the good of everything. If there was hell to be paid; they would aim to do so. Valka had kept trying and fighting. Bettering herself in their absence it would seem and winning this time. Goose was proud of his little matriarch. Little in figure but not in heart. There was much growth; much room of improvement. Never had Goose doubted her. "Good! It is high time that they pay for their crimes." There is mention of Rougarou paying for his own as well and the Vanner Cob bobs his head gently to this. Obviously there is more comfort in those words too and in that realization that balance was being restored. Silence on that front was a good thing. Goose knows this too.

There is a moment when Valka's gaze settles on a younger male. Goose does not recognize this boy nor has he recalled to have met Drogon. Not yet anyway. Days to catch up though; to learn. Goose figured this as any may. Days and hopefully months. Goose after all had no intention of leaving again. Not this time. Not ever again. Perhaps some days for exploring but never further than the islands again. Home and nothing less. The wandering out in the vast world was done. Goose promises this of himself even. Riddler would be happier here and, already the boy looked content. Delighted to be home as much as Goose himself. Mention now of Bacardi being the Huskarl now and protecting the herd as his own. A spot perhaps that Goose had held himself before Valka's victory. A place he'd vowed to get again as her equal some day. Goose had left though for some time. It no longer was his to aim for. Not now. Goose didn't need the power to know that this was his family. Valka and he were dear friends and he never wished that to be tarnished. A title is just that; a name. Nothing more and nothing less.

Concern then from both the males as Valka spoke of the wolves having become numerous again. "Again they come? In replenished numbers? That is concerning yes?" Goose worried over this but none had come to be lost of yet. None would if he could help it too. Goose let his eyes follow her own searching. A small figure is spotted and then Valka speaks of a daughter. That must be her Goose realized and a smile finds his lips. "Congratulations." There is kindness and warmth in his voice. Those eyes shimmer nothing less. There is laughter as she spoke of eternal youth. Ah; one could wish that and more. To live forever but then, wouldn't you watch your dearest souls fall victim to their time? It would be a somber curse to be set upon them. To watch all they care about pass on while they remain. No, Goose would not wish this upon she or himself.

"Perhaps it is something to think about. I would not want to watch those around me fall where I remain though for a chance of eternal youth. All our times come at some point. When those times are right. Hopefully they are still a long way off though." A moment of pause and then his lips form words again. "I would hope that Riddler would stand with her to fight for the Bay and protect it." Goose glanced to his son whom stood a bit off now. His eyes curiously searching over the boy a moment while it appeared that Riddler was looking for someone. Who? Riddler had heard his sire though and Goose noticed the nod of his head in response to the words of protecting their home. A smile over the stallion's lips again. Goose shifted his attention back on Valka then and he chuckles.

"I have no doubt my friend, that we hold still much time to come. There is so much I've missed. I'm sure you've stories to tell. Perhaps one now Valka?" Because Goose was so curious in what he had missed up to this point.
