The Phoenix of Jai Alai

You left one off your list Z,, Dania.. Jai Alai can only re-emerge in a grass roots effort. Where ever there is a standing Fronton/court somewhere,, There is potential. I could even see Laca's outdoor fronton being a venue.. Jai Alai needs to go online world wide. It's hard to grasp the concept. World wide broadcasting is possible. Magic City does a better job than anyone with promotion of players and the game but it is still lacking what it could be. Now that gambling is out of the picture as far as a regulated pari-mutuel goes it kind of becomes a more legit sport especially since the advent of sports betting going legal for ALL sports.. The lull in sports betting until it is legally settled gives Jai Alai a chance to distance itself from it's controversial past. Streaming equipment is not as expensive as it used to be and when you are dealing with online advertisement and sponsorship it's all about how many hits your website gets. Show really good matches and you might be able to develop a per-game AND\OR monthly subscription model. It would need to be affordable at first. Most of us posting here cannot conceive what a true Jai Alai promotion would look like.. Take for instance the MMA model.. They could care less how many people show up to a match. This would be unlike anything Jai Alai has gone thru in the past. I totally understand the pessimism, and yes I don't think it will ever come back in it's traditional format in the near future if ever. It's literally ripe for the pickens as far as a sport with a strong following goes.. Who is going to pony up the initial $$??
