"Lawsuit Alleges?" Well, I Allege....

I "allege" that many of the people who post herein bear ill-will to one or more groups associated with the ownership or management or player's union and have such little belief in their arguments that they wont even put their real names behind them. Many disgruntled former players, amateurs who "never got a shot," and others with misguided passions about a sport they claim to love but never fully supported.

This is an allegation.

What is not an allegation, what is an absolute statement of fact is that the Collett family put their family fortune into Florida Gaming between 1993 & 2014 from the sale of their banking business. 100% of that money was put into the company and secured by stock that became worthless with the bankruptcy - the suit you quote was a part of that action.

The bulk of their money was used to cover operational costs long after FGC became a risky investment AND THE SINGLE GREATEST RECURRING COST were the player's salaries and prize money. The highest player salaries and the best rosters maintained from the beginning of their time with Jai-Alai till the end.

Others on this list closed before losing their first dime and none came close to losing everything. No doubt it was in pursuit of making it all back with income from the machines but they never sacrificed Jai-Alai in order to do it.

One name on this "list" was ambivalent about what balls the players used for the borderline-sham-season and was open to allowing players at the Fort to use tennis ball. When the receiver at Florida Gaming took over he cut every player salary to $1,800/month per the CBA.

Collett Senior died without the ability to fund assisted living and Benny lives with his wife in an apartment partially supported by disability income.

The colletts have nothing in common with the others on the list and the whole argument that they might is why those who could actually answer some of the decent questions and comments posed herein ask why bother.

Sorry Tiger, I'm usually game to agree to disagree but this post is complete bullshit, painted with a wide brush that does not work with this sport.
