THINGS THAT BOTHER YOU, NEVER BOTHER ME!

“PLEH!” Talya spat the water and pebble out on the rock, soaking both hers and her competitors sticks and pinecones. The little rock tapped and skittered across the granite surface, but Talya hardly paid it any mind. Her ears had flicked backward and caught the pounding approach of her playmates' hooves. She jerked her head and put him back in her line of sight, noticing how close he was and how quick he was approaching. A happy squeal and a giggle pitched out of her mouth as Talya swung her head down and kicked out toward him, quite careful to avoid actually hitting him but having fun pretending nonetheless.

She trotted in a half-circle to turn herself back around and look at the last treasure he’d found. “Woah! Look at all the colors!” Talya was quite impressed. It was large, too. Much larger than hers! Talya’s smile grew wider as she looked at all their treasure.

Frey’s dark, wet tail slapped over her haunches and made her swing them and give a little kick as her ears turned back, then she laughed and did a little hop before coming back close to her new friend. “Yeah! Super fun!!” Talya couldn’t remember the last time she’d had this much fun!

This afternoon spent with the red boy had been the very best she’d had in quite a long time. Talya didn’t know what to do with all this happy, lovely energy. “I’m Talya!” Normally she didn’t bother with names, but for the first time in her life, Talya actively wanted to know his. What did her new playmate call himself?

“Um- do you want to be my friend?” She asked, ears pointed forward and blue eyes big and needy. Talya was a very, very social little creature. As much as she’d pretend she had fun living on her own, a part of her had been slowly going more and more insane the longer she spent in her own company.
