He could not keep himself from smiling at her as she turned her curious eyes his way, asking about Atlantis. “Oh, yes,” he agreed with her statement and nodded his head, “it’s quite beautiful. The water is the prettiest turquoise blue that I’ve never seen anywhere else and as gorgeous as the stretch of beaches are, the inland jungle is fascinating.” His grin grew as he looked at her excitedly. “There are plants there like I’ve never seen, flowers of shapes and colors that look absolutely foreign. There’s birds of plumage with every color that make the most interesting sounds.”
A wistfulness entered his voice as Zevulun reminisced about Atlantis. He hadn’t seen it in years, not since he was two.
His pink-lined ears flicked toward her, blue eyes falling to catch her face as she spoke again. Zevulun tried to temper his excitement at her suggestion, but his white tail still lifted up on his haunches and a smile spread quickly over his mouth. “I would like that very much- I mean to say- That sounds like it would be fun.” He tried to cover over the warmth that’d initially sunk into his tone, but knew it was likely all too obvious. Though, maybe because she was younger, she wouldn’t pick up on his flirtatious behavior.
How could he be blamed, though? That little giggle that’d come out of her mouth teased his heart to beat just a little faster.
“You know, it doesn’t have to be just Tinuvel or Atlantis we explore together… I would gladly be your own personal tour guide of all the islands, if you’d like.” He could try and pretend all he wanted that it was an innocent suggestion but it was all too easy to see the hopeful brightness in his eyes as they fell down over her pretty face. “No pressure, of course, but… well, I enjoy exploring even more when I have a good friend with me.”
