the ace in exile

There was something between them that Viđarr didn’t know how to explain. It wasn’t gravity, it wasn’t the earth shattering pull… no. This was something different. He’d taken responsibility for the little blue mare before, and he would do it again… and again, and again. Really, Viđarr was happy to do it. He was happy to have someone that he could care for, someone that he could protect. The stallion was a guardian by nature, and a guardian he would always be.

We, his amber eyes went wide. Viđarr couldn’t help himself. He reached out to press his cheek into the mare, gaze dancing. If there was one thing that he loved, it was children. “How wonderful… how truly wonderful,” there was a softness to the way that he spoke. Family. The beginnings of family, when family was the most incredibly important thing in this world. How incredible.

At the mention of the colt driving his father mad, Viđarr couldn’t help but chuckle. It was soft, brassy. “Such is the way of young men, it is how they learn.” His amber eyes glimmered with the promise of things to come. Softly, the shadow’s gaze shifted back to the blue mare. “I’ve ah, taken the Savanna as my home,” he began quietly. “If that is okay to you, I would like you to join me.” Viđarr was near sheepish as he offered the invitation. Would she even want to join him? The very status of their relationship hadn’t really… been a topic of conversation. He could only hope that she would be willing to make a home there with their child, where Viđarr could keep them both safe.
