How was it possible? How is it that he soothes the anxiety that clinches at her stomach? Was it the slight upturn of his lips as he smiles at her... or the friendliness in his gaze? Whatever it was, she only wants to be near to him. It was peculiar feeling - considering the events that had just transpired back on the crossing. But would he still want to be near to her if he found out that she had abandoned her daughter? That she was afraid?
She listens intently as he speaks of his family, of Tinuvel, of the Bay - for it was a welcome distraction from her pesky thoughts. A shy smile tugs at the corner of her lips as mentions the Prairie, it sounds beautiful. Momentarily, she is swept from her problems, to a place of waving golden grasses and trickling creeks. She closes her hazel eyes and emerses herself in this reality. She can feel the warm breeze against her skin and the sweet aroma of the tender grasses. Her smile widens as she feels the tickle of low hanging tree branches along the curve of her spine - she is there.
And you? his words draw her from her daydream. The smile fades from her lips as she tries to piece together where she would even go.
Ummm... she croaks "I don't know," she drops her hazel gaze to the grains of sand at her hooves. She swallows back the fear and raises her gaze back to meet his.
C-c-could I come with you? she asks with a gentle tilt of her delicate head "I know we just met and, I know it seems weird and I have..." her words trail off into a murmur.
"...never seen a prairie." she shifts her weight uncomfortably from hoof to hoof as she waits for his answer - which felt entirely like an eternity.
