Re(12): Lead, follow, or Get out of the Way

My sense isn't that we're agreeing to disagree, I think we just bring out the two major take-aways of people who attend fairly long term.

Having been in mass media for so many years, I still tend to 'report' my observations as best as I can to a wider readership, even tho ten active visitors seems to be abt the most that come in here, and only a half dozen write in here regularly, generally with some hostility. Not sure why they even bother to come in here, being so unhappy with everything ever posted here.

But whatever. Most of my stuff's on Twitter now that I've given up on the facebook police and their PC algorythms.

At least FB's software is so much better; one can block the obnoxious ones so ya dont have to endure them and they can't respond to what they can't see. And of course unlike radio types, I'm graphically oriented and I never message with my thumbs nor do I find much valuable from those who do.

Wish I'd known more about AA before I wasted so much time with their rather baptist single minded solution. They deceive when they say its not religious and they admit they do that because they dont' want to scare hurting people off before they can get into their heads.

The religious zealots tend to monopolize the mtgs, I presume just to hear themselves talk. The nice thing about the internet, ya dont hve to sit through their repetitive superstition and piety. Most people just roll their eyes at them and sigh, "take what you can get from AA people and leave the rest." There are great ones but the best ones end up sponsoring so many poeple, its like they have their shingle out..and thats the one thing that makes it worthwhile. I had one sponsor like Jim, who ended up jus being hurtful for his own reasons, the chronic gossip. But others with balanced thinking and loving intentions.

They're a little Biblical in the sensible view that they drop seeds which grow in fertile soil and don't when not regularly watered by the individual. Thats the way it is with addictions, ya have to be ready. The little common and now popular medication Naltrexone fm your doctor just ends the struggling and temptation that drives going back out. I got that from a DUI class friend who sent me to a county place up north with physicians who could prescribe the inhibitor. AA has a one size fits all 'program' and they follow it 'religiously.' I never found one place elswhere that wasn't true tho I heard the plaza businessmen near Unity appeal to a less superstitious crowd. I just never made it over there before I got involved with Tri-County that did the trick.

I take my time to write this, not to argue or brag, but if someone hadn't told me, i'd probably still be buyin my pints which was both unhealthy and like smoking dope, a waste of potential.

Who doens't know someone close to them that doesn't need solutions, instead of hopes? With that in mind, I practice my journalism; others can feel free to skip my musings and with the insults, I'll never know, just like broadcasters don't hear the roar of car radio pushbuttons in and out! "And that's the Report. I'm Steve McIntosh". (OH, wrong station.) Rman sed it.
