Re(4): Pot Shops Broken Into

Oh I loe talking and remeniscing about Vern. Last I read, he was alive and kicking. I found a white haired pix of him with buddy sheriff Johnny Darr and some others... Vern was the Wichita sheriff before I got there in the early70s, a real motorcycle cowboy cop thrned KS attorney General. Used to go up to KU, bust kids and say "Ya don't like the MJ laws, go to Topeka and Change em. He made a natnl name for himself busting airlnes for serving mixed drinks flying over KS, or on Amtrack thru Ks. JOhnny Carson got some mileage fm Vern and KS reputation suffered.

In the military, nobody gave a shit about dope and when we got home to finish college, we were paranoid abt knocks on the door. Like thos 1930 movies about Chicagoland speak easies if ya get my drift.

As to the sourpuss gen x or y guy in here slamming me for being old...how arrogant and negative of you. Hope you grow out of your disdain and disrespect attitude because when you get old, and take ibuprofen to ease your joint pain, you're still lucid to reminisce.

THEN pal, you can take your lifelong attitude into old age and be a grumpy OLD man! But you have to endure juvenile critics like you still are.

Nobody in who was in radio or TV will ever scrape up enough of a fortune to live at John Knox. Those places are for the widows of dead doctors and lawyers and baseball team owners. So just keep stereotyping what you think old people are like. We didn't age like our 1950s grandparents are--I'm sure lots of boomers still smoke dope but they can afford it. And they take cruises and have lots of stamps in the back of their passports.

So how happy are you? Divorced yet? Oh, twice, huh? Mmmm. Do you visit your parents or grandparents at Knox? Oh, you never saw much of em, huh?

Yeah, we're ALL the product of Hollywood stereotypes. I'm thinking thats one of the unique things about being American. We watch too much media. We should get out of country more to see how must people live. Thats one of the things that was good about being in the military...ya flew the world on Uncle Sam's dime.
