CHARITABLE ADVERTISING on Web Site There are many worthwhile charitable causes in existence, but we can only accept sponsorship or fundraising efforts on Fusilier Association websites, that specifically support approved Fusilier charities. This essentially means that it is acceptable to use these pages to seek sponsorship for The Fusiliers Aid Society (which includes Fallen Fusiliers), and The Fusilier Memorial fund only. We now have our own dedicated justgiving site (http://www.justgiving.com/fusiliersaidsociety), which you can use to help raise money for your cause. If you let RHQ (Asst Regt Sec) know the specific cause you are raising money for, it will be directed to the correct fund. Messages soliciting sponsorship for causes or charities other than the Fusilier ones mentioned above should not be placed on the message board and may be removed by the Webmaster. SAVE 9th JULY 2022 FOR YOUR INVITATION TO OUR FUSILIER GATHERING

The Fusilier Gathering (FG22) will be held on Saturday 9th July 2022 at the Heart of England Conference Centre, Fillongley, Coventry. It will be the first Fusilier Gathering since 2013. We really want you to join us, so here are some details to aid in your planning.

� Why?
To celebrate the Fusilier family and friendships:
� The last gathering was held in 2013 and after the last two years of the pandemic it will be a chance to meet up with former colleagues and friends at a large social event.
� Regimental anniversaries
o The 30th anniversary of the disbandment of 3rd Battalion and the creation of the two battalion regiment.
o The 25th anniversary of the deployment of the 2nd Battalion on Op LODESTAR, Bosnia

� Where?
The Heart of England Conference Centre, Fillongley, Coventry, CV7 8DX

� Timings and the Running Order
� 1645-1715 Transport shuttles available from selected hotels.
� 1715-1900 Drinks and canapes reception in marquee (wine, beer & soft drinks included in the ticket price � spirits and other drinks can be purchased from the bars).
o Music provided by the Band of the Fusiliers (Warwickshire) Association
o Musical display by the Band of 5th Battalion and Drums Platoon of 1st Battalion.
� 1900 � 0030 Move to the function suite for a two course dinner with wine.
o Tables of 8 � see booking form.
o Music from the Fusiliers (Warwickshire) Association Band and a �stick beating� display by the Drums Platoon of 1st Battalion
o 2100-2345 Dance band and disco
o 2130-2330 Dodgems, burger bar and bars open
o 2300-0030 Transport shuttles available to selected hotels

� What should you wear?
Evening dress, lounge suit or Regimental blazer and smart trousers. No medals are to be worn. Partners are requested to dress to match the occasion.

� How much will it cost?
We have been able to secure some sponsorship for the event as well as a significant subsidy from the Regiment. Therefore, the cost (including reception drinks and half a bottle of wine at the table) will be �25 for a single ticket which is fantastic value for what is on offer. Cash bars will also be available.

� Booking Tickets
Booking tickets is easy and the booking window is now open. Follow the instructions given and complete the �Booking Tickets Form�. Please note that for planning purposes the booking window will close on Friday 17th June. Payment will be required to secure your bookings and we will operate a reserve list.

� Where can you stay?
Please view the final page of this note for details of suggested accommodation options. A free shuttle bus service between 3 of the local hotels will be provided during certain periods.
Please note that accommodation will be at a premium in July and so all hotels require booking by 9th June or the rooms will be released. For those who choose to drive there is ample carparking at the venue.

Of course, you can book your own hotel directly using the various hotel booking websites, often getting great deals with advance notice.

� How can you help make this a truly Fusilier family-wide event?
This is a Fusilier family event, and we want all ranks to be able to attend. Whilst we have made every effort to contact Fusiliers on Regimental databases, we are aware that this communication may not reach all Fusiliers, past and present. To this end, please take it upon yourselves to contact your current and former colleagues and friends and pass on this information about FG22. We have a lot to celebrate and commemorate this year so please do your best to attend yourself and encourage others to attend.

SUGGESTED ACCOMMODATION OPTIONS

We will be providing mini-bus pick up and drop off at these hotels only between the hours of 1645-1730 and 2300-0030. We have reserved rooms at each, but they will need to booked by 9th June or the rooms will be released.

The Heart of England Conference Centre has various glamping options too:
� 5 Shepherd huts
� 4 Glamping pods
� 1 Log cabin
These should be booked directly with the Conference Centre and have not been reserved.

Given its proximity to the NEC, the area is well served with hotels and B&Bs nearby should you wish to book into other accommodation and make you own way to the venue.

Please note that we have received advance notice that the road between Meriden Village and the venue will be closed until August.
