Early Retirement For NFL Player?

A Las Vegas police arrest report accuses New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara and three other men of punching, kicking and badly injuring a man in a rooftop nightclub at the Cromwell hotel-casino.

Kamara has played five years with the Saints, and has an estimated net worth of $8 million. In September 2020, Kamara and the Saints agreed to a five-year $75 million contract that came with a $15 million signing bonus, a $33 million guarantee and an average annual salary of $15 million.

Twenty years ago, a fuck-up like Kamara’s would have gotten a shrug of the shoulders from pro sports, but the NFL has grown more conscious of its public image.

Kamara is an exceptional player, and maybe the NFL can let him off with a slap on the hands. I don’t know.

And - - - I have no idea what will become of a salary like Kamara’s, if the NFL gives him the boot. Too bad someone can’t find a way to help 26-yr-old multi-millionaires behave better.
