Rafe may have been right, that'd he'd protect Viveka to no avail. But Viveka read between those all too thin lines to know that his need to protect her was purely primal, out of obligation. Not because he wanted to keep her safe out of love, but instead because she was property. Viveka knew she was exposed by coming to the Meadow. She knew she was equally now vulnerable since she was exhausted from the swim and her delivery of Eigyr.

A rustling of grass catches her attention and her eyes snap to the approaching splashed stallion before her. Eigyr's birth is still fresh, the grass coated in mucus, membrane, and blood. She angles her tired body in front of the little red filly, ears laced into the creamy tresses of her mane. She is prepared to be as vicious as necessary to protect the only thing keeping her from shattering into a million pieces. The stallion clears his throat and says something she didn't quite expect. Her body remains tense but her ears flick to a more neutral position. "I am not supposed to be here." She admits. "He will come looking."

In that moment, the weight of her actions and likely the mix of the birth of Eigyr and her overwhelming exhaustion, sends her into emotional overload. She can feel her eyes well with tears, a few slipping over her lashes. Eigyr splays at her feet, making an attempt to stand and Viveka nudges the fresh filly to help. She keeps one eye on the stallion as Eigyr wobbles on unsteady, new legs. "I will come with you," she barely breathes. He had to know that she was owned by another. She takes painfully slow steps towards him, Eigyr teetering slowly behind her. "I am Viveka, and this...this is Eigyr. Please don't send us back to the Badlands." She begs him.
