Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

let me be brave

As the conversation slowly drew itself to an end (unless they wanted to keep talking themselves in circles), Oswin reflected with a sort of quiet awe, wondering if conversations between the leaders of the Peak and the Lagoon had ever been like this. Had there been Peak sisters of the past who wanted to change the world who met in the shadows with Lagoon bachelors of the same mindset? Oswin knew she should temper her hope, but she was already getting ahead of herself a little in her head.

This had to be why she’d woken up one day and decided enough was enough, the Peak needed her to return. Leaving had been the hardest thing she’d ever done, but her heart could never fully be in the Peak until the issues with her brother were put to rest one way or the other.

And now?

Oswin’s ears flicked as Rade spoke of monitoring the Commons. Róisín offered herself and Oswin made a sound of agreement, nodding her head. She was sure the sister’s wouldn’t mind sharing the responsibility, but decided not to undermine Róisín’s strength in volunteering. If she wanted to apply herself and patrol, Oswin would let her. She remembered being young and feeling like she had a lot to prove, too.

“To better days.” She said, echoing the desires that were making her heart ache with want a little. She felt a touch of fear, wondering if they were all crazy to think they could try and do something like this.

Only time would tell.

Oswin’s blue eyes flickered briefly over the Lagoon Boss and she dipped her head slightly before turning to walk off with Róisín, ready to be back at their Peak.

oswin
this is as brave as I know how to be.
I know it’s gonna hurt you, but please… be a little proud of me.
