Yesterday at the Bracebridge Ponds I heard some strange squeaks coming from the edge of cell 4. As I moved closer, two Muskrats came into view, swimming along in single file. It quickly became apparent that it is now Muskrat mating season. After checking some references, I learned that "courtship is conducted by the female as she swims about making noises similar to the squeak of a mouse".
