and here you are, living, despite it all

You were unsure which pain is worse --
The shock of what happened or the ache for what never will.

Siobhan was restless, made uncomfortable by the shifting and turning of the child she carried. Only a few weeks separated her from the arrival of her latest, and while this fact should have filled her with joy, she remained uneasy and uncertain. With neither Bjorn nor Ailill at her side, she felt adrift and alone. She knew that she should make her way back to Tinuvel to meet up with Dances, but the prospect of returning to the land where she'd been thrice abandoned was daunting. Soon, she wouldn't have time to dither about her choice.

As it was, Siobhan paced restlessly at the south end of the Peak, attempting to soak in the warmth of early spring to settle the child in her womb. The rest of her growing family remained safely in the Peak beneath her eldest daughter, leaving Siobhan a rare chance to see a little of the Crossing alone. It had been years since she'd done so, and the memory of coming across little Akadi in need of a mother was forefront in her mind. She wondered if Ailill and Akadi had ever found each other, and found herself praying that they had.

Movement ahead of her draws her gaze and she watches as a young stallion stares out nervously across the meadow. His leggy physique gave her the distinct impression that he was little more than a yearling and she found her expression softening. She didn't know him well enough to say for certain that he was nervous, but she had raised nearly a dozen children by now and could sense a bit of unease when she saw it.

The red mare moved closer at a sedate walk and nickered quietly to the boy before settling down near to him and stretching out her muzzle for an exchange of breath.

"Are you okay?" She asked gently, tipping her head and favoring him with a small smile. She wasn't sure why he seemed anxious, but she wanted to help if she could. Hopefully the problem as as simple as directing him how to get home, or helping him find a lost family member, but Siobhan had always had a knack for finding the ones that needed a new family. And as much as she hoped - for the boy's sake - that such was not the case here, she would not shy away from any soul that needed help.

OOC: No apologies necessary from you <3 Sorry this took so long to get up <3
