This essentially means that it is acceptable to use these pages to seek sponsorship for The Fusiliers Aid Society (which includes Fallen Fusiliers), and The Fusilier Memorial fund only. We now have our own dedicated justgiving site (http://www.justgiving.com/fusiliersaidsociety), which you can use to help raise money for your cause. Death of Lieutenant Colonel (Retd) Eric W. Davidson MBE. DL.

It is with deep sadness that I report to you of the Death of
Lieutenant Colonel (Retd) Eric William Davidson MBE. DL The Band President
of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers Association Lancashire.
Col Eric, sadly lost his bravely fought battle with cancer early this morning.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to his loving wife Marjorie and family on their loss,
Col Eric's loss will be felt throughout the Borough of Bury and beyond.
God bless him.
This is a short history of Col Erics past, very interesting I thought
Eric William Davidson Eric was born in the Parish of Jedburgh Roxburghshire Scotland on 13th September 1937; he attended Ancrum Public School and Jedburgh Grammar School. He completed National Service and Regular Service from 1955 to 1958 Short Service.
After completing his Forces career Eric joined the British Police Service and served in the former County Borough of Bolton, Lancashire Constabulary and Greater Manchester Police. He completed 15 years in Operational Support followed by 15 years as a Communications Specialist, finally retiring at Force Headquarters as Technical Communications Officer in 1988.
In 1960 during Police Service Eric was elected to serve in a voluntary capacity with the Reserve Armed Forces/Cadets. After first serving with the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment he was eventually accepted as a Fusilier and proudly wore the hackle until retirement as Lieutenant Colonel in 1988. For over 40 years Eric has worked in a voluntary capacity for the Fusiliers and together with three Area Secretaries and three Area Chairmen culminating in his appointment as Area Chairman for Lancashire in 2005.
In 1988 Eric joined Sonic Communications with particular responsibility for Home Office consignments; he retired as the National Sales Manager in 2002.
Eric was appointed Deputy Lieutenant for the County of Greater Manchester in 2002.
