I think he'll carve off a smaller piece on the east side, lay it to waste, use what few industries he didn't destroy and turn it into a wheat state which is what all of Ukraine was when the Soviets grew food there. Its a lot like Kansas!
I think the Ukrainians will move westward leaving Donetsk province and the one north I forget and gather the Russian heritage people there. He's got his land bridge if he does that. I don't think he has enough time left to take much more territory, you're right abt his age but 70s not as unhealthy as it was back when my parents and grandparents were alive.

When you're 70, if you are on the right meds and didnt get cancer, smoke, be a drunk or have a respiratory or heart condition, you'll be just fine. We are.
I'm getting back in shape this month out in the yard, doing improvements I waited for spring to do; she's traveling a lot, gonna be up your way next week, overseas again in a couple months.
All us old farts are on blood thinners; not cheap but very effective at preventing strokes and heart disease which is what took out seventy somethings a few decades ago. Sad for your generation, but you'll be waiting another ten years to take over the reins.

You young pups don't see us out there spending money. Radio's written us boomers off but TV hasn't. We've accumulated wealth and we're spending it. Look at the old boomer rock stars who aren't on the road as much as they were, but they're still out there doing what they like doing. For us upper middle classers, if the $300k house is paid off we're worth close to a million and all lots of us have to do is stay healthy.
I do see a lot of war wounded out and about; I think most of the chronic smokers have died off because most of us boomers quit long enough ago as to have escaped carrying around oxygen tanks like our 50s parents did.
Putins got a good ten years left. Trump, Clinton and I are the same age and we're not shutins like our grandparents were at our age.
I don't know what Putin's gonna do but I think we've all learned that today's smart weaponry and satellite imagery has rendered ground invasions, probably even naval warfare, very hard to win.

Hell I knew 50 years ago there was no way I'd ever get in a tank. All they're good for today is leveling cities, one neighborhood at a time--and at great cost. My uncle won the Silver Star with his bazooka taking out a Panzer in 1944. He lived to tell about it but life was hard, taking a .50 in the butt. They wanted him bad because bazookas are tank killers. Now we got A-10s and we made short work of Saddams armor, you'll remember.
We've been fighting wars for years using the previous war's technology...starting with the Civil War and Napoleon's tactics. What a freakin bloodbath that was--I have yet to figure out how General Lee became a HERO, lining his men up for slaughter with the union's advanced artillery.
