I DON'T WORRY,
WORRYING DON'T AGREE
THINGS THAT BOTHER YOU, NEVER BOTHER ME!

No one ever apologized to Talya.

Her head tilted and she watched Frey work his way through both an explanation for his behavior and his sincere apology. She shook her head firmly when he was through. “Let’s forget all about it!” She said it with happy confidence, she’d forgotten much, much worse that’d happened to her. “It doesn’t matter anymore.” She even smiled wide so he’d know how happy she was about it and how happy she was to see him again. “I’m happy to see you again, Frey.” She said his name like she was saying something special, but how was he to know it meant something that she used his actual name and not some silly nickname she’d tagged him with?

“Hey there,” Frey said to Kestrel and Kestrel looked up with wide eyes at the much taller, larger stallion and offered a meek but polite: “Um- Hi.”

Talya gasped as realization struck her. “Oh! You don’t know! You both don’t know! Hah!” Her eyes widened and she looked from Kestrel to Frey and back again. “We made him.” She said, smiling. “His name is Kestrel and he’s really, really cool. You’re gonna love him. He’s so good at playing games.”

Kestrel frowned, head tilting as he looked up at his mother, clearly trying to figure out if this was a truth she was telling or if this was one of the things she just believed was true. He dropped his chin and peered a little more curiously at Frey. Was it… true? Was this his father?
