CHARITABLE ADVERTISING on Web Site There are many worthwhile charitable causes in existence, but we can only accept sponsorship or fundraising efforts on Fusilier Association websites, that specifically support approved Fusilier charities. This essentially means that it is acceptable to use these pages to seek sponsorship for The Fusiliers Aid Society (which includes Fallen Fusiliers), and The Fusilier Memorial fund only. We now have our own dedicated justgiving site (http://www.justgiving.com/fusiliersaidsociety), which you can use to help raise money for your cause. If you let RHQ (Asst Regt Sec) know the specific cause you are raising money for, it will be directed to the correct fund. Messages soliciting sponsorship for causes or charities other than the Fusilier ones mentioned above should not be placed on the message board and may be removed by the Webmaster.

Research on James Wallace who served under Alan Maclure IP: 184.108.40.206 Posted on May 24, 2022 at 12:00:51 by Jack Bowerman
I am trying to do some research for my grandfather, on his grandfather, James Wallace, who served in the 7th Lancashire Fusiliers in 1914 in Gallipolli, Egypt and Belgium. I know he served under an "Alan Mc Lure" who I believe to likely be Alan F MacLure. My great-great-grandfather admired Alan and named my grandfather after him so any photos or stories of Alan Maclure are also very much appreciated.
The info I have from my grandfather is:
James Wallace = company sergeant major on Monns Star. CS on Force Efficiency medal, Acting warrant officer 1st class on peace and great war medals. He served in 7th Lanc. Fusilies out of cross lane barracks. Service no. 220. Address on southbourne street seedley salford. Married wife Caroline Brooks Wallace. Died in 1940s.
Any stories, leads, or photos you may have would be very very appreciated by my grandfather. His mother died when he was young and so he was mostly raised by his grandfather, James Wallace, who rarely talked about his service. My grandfather would very much like to hear about his service, the service of Alan Maclure or to see photos of them also.
Please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any leads. Replies:
