Before the Sqn took the 707 Qantas had a royal flight configuration which had a bed area.
During the lead up to us taking over Qantas attached crews one was a ground engineer (later flight engineer) related his encounter during a Qantas royal flight(Brian i think) while we were enjoying a Bangkok bar.
HRH retired for the night and when switching off the light the press button
pooped out and the light remained on.
Said engineer was called fronted with HRH in bed. Scrambling around HRH enquired "What are you doing young man"
ANSWER "Mam im looking for a screw"
REPLY "well your man you wont find one here"
Imprinted on the engineers brain for life
