PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

With each day Oswald pushed the boundaries of the land he’d memorized a little further and a little further. Even before his mother’s time was swept away raising his sister in her first days, Oswald took his dependency to heart. When he was very young, Oswin had told him that she would always be there, but could not always be here, as she had a duty to uphold the Peak.

Once he was well old enough to make due on his own, Oswald excitedly threw himself to his so-called “studies.” His goal, though he hadn’t told anyone else yet, was to be able to navigate Crossing Isle so well he could move with the confidence and grace of a horse with sight. He wanted to know where he had to walk a little more carefully - where there might be fallen logs or thick brush that he needed to push his thick legs through - and he wanted to know where the land opened and would allow him to run.

By now, of course, he’d learned the Peak quite well. He knew to be careful on the descent overall, but even where to pick his steps with extra attention and hover as close as he might to the cliff wall. As he made his descent that day, however, he was met by something quite new. A stranger.

Oswald came to a surprised halt, lifting up his head and lifting his upper lip, testing the smells in the air to isolate the new scent he’d caught. It was the Lagoon and though the scent had similarities to his father, it wasn’t quite the same. Puzzled, Oswald dropped his chin and looked down the path. “Hello?” He called out, tilting his head and walking slowly forward, intending to draw closer and meet whoever it was. Though this individual was currently unknown to Oswald, the shared scent of his father had him excited and quite curious to meet whoever it was.
