Speaking of Ploob (and we were, weren't we?), another folk experience I remember with pleasure is the night-before-Christmas-leave broadcast on WNAV (?), the over-the-wire unofficial radio station, of the "opera", Dick Tracy's Wedding. It had a number of then current Hollywood stars in singing roles. I recall the Andrews Sisters singing a chorus leading up to the Marrying Sam's words, "I now pronounce you man and..." at which point Dick would be called away to solve another crime.
As with Ploob, I think it would be great to resurrect Dick Tracy's Wedding. Replies:
