a body without a soul;

Viveka knew she'd see Rafe again. For she foretold Romulus so that someday he'd likely grow curious about Cassian, or the potential existence of the loudly colored colt. She had only just exited the sea with her baby when she gets the sense she's being watched. And then he is there. Her ears prick forward and she can feel it then, the deep sense of love and hurt that she'd desperately tried to tamp down in her belly. It curled like bile prepared to rise in her throat. He was here. Cassian, so young, and so overwhelmingly curious peaks from behind his mother's flank and wastes no time taking creeping steps forward, his little muzzle extended to his father. Viveka had never told him who it was, it was too painful to reflect on those memories, but she won't stop the curious colt from meeting Rafe. If there was anything that Viveka was certain of, Rafe loved all his children.

Viveka.

Her eyes snap to his blue eyes. His body appears tense and she wonders if it is her fault. She'd begged to leave and she wasn't running now, though that sick feeling in her gut screamed that this conversation would lead to emotional damage. But what he reveals, she doesn't expect. Her face reflects her puzzled thoughts as she straightens her body. Her coat is still tinged with sea water and the sun is a welcome reprieve as it starts to soak up the moisture from her skin. She doesn't respond immediately, instead she feels like she's entered an outer body experience. Her ears ring while her chest hollows and she feels her breath quickening as her emotions crash over her shoulders. She desperately tries to tamp the feeling as it rakes her body but the panic attack has its own thoughts. She sucks in deep and heavy breaths.

"I didn't expect to see you here," she mumbles breathlessly. Go back to Zevulun, or come home. Was it her home? Did he want her there? And if he did, was it because he was a self motivated stallion or was it because she was just another pretty face in his collection? Did it matter to her, truly? Or was her need for him so desperate, so consuming that she would cling to it, no matter what form it took? Her eyes are confused as she stares at him. Her brows knit together and she notes how Cassian has taken to exploring his fathers legs. The little colt excitedly notes, "You have patches like me!"

"Home?" She says quietly. The Badlands was her home, she just wasn't ready to admit it. In fact, she wasn't ready to admit that he was her home. "Fell?" v i v e k a mare | silver black | swedish warmblood | 6 | moonless
