Learn your history Wallace Ghost. Its REPUBS claiming to be the "party of Lincoln." Lincoln freed the slaves; that was a very liberal notion at the time. Today the liberal descendants of those Republican voters are now Democrats-- they switched in the 1960s, remember?
Wonder if I could have a word or two with your HS history teacher; I'm sure you didn't take political science in college where they have textbooks without color pictures and ya have to actually READ em because in college, there's no such thing as social promotion. Anyway not in colleges where there are waiting lines for admission!
It's amazing we give free education to kids going through puberty...they're far more interested in each other than in learning so they can get better grades in college, which leads to higher paying jobs.
Fact is, most kids think their school days are over when they get their diploma-- that tells fast food companies they can move the kids straight up to dropping fries and working the window!
Still, at $10 an hour they can barely afford to drive to work and now with gas nearly $5, they will probably quit within a month or two and live at home cutting the neighbor's grass with dad's mower, or else just mooch off em til their parents throw them out.
The psychological term for those kids is "Failure to thrive." That's what happens to toddlers who don't start talking because their mothers leave em in the crib all the time.
My favorite saying is, "Better to raise em right the first time, than have to fix em after they're broken!"
