in fine frenzy rolling

ill met by moonlight

Titania glowers from the shadow of a nearby slope, watching as he steps across the borders of her home.

She can't be too angry, she reasons, stalking wordlessly out into the sun towards him. She asked him to come, after all. But the comet-marked mare is not one to easily let go of a grudge, and the wounds from their last encounter - physical and otherwise - are still tender, sensitive and vulnerable beneath newly-knit scar tissue. He has stolen from her once before, even if he didn't intend to keep the bounty for himself, and she's not about to let him just stumble on into the Desert and do it again... especially now that she has something else worth stealing.

"Hold," she calls, her feminine voice turned imperious, "and do not go one step further." Titania stops some yards away, waiting for him to turn and face her, muscles tensed to leap forward and try to cut him off should he decide to ignore her impolite request. She doubts it'll happen - why else would he be here, in this veritable wasteland, but to see her? Still... it's not a gamble she's willing to take.

"Took you long enough," she mutters. She'd told him exactly where and who she was, how hard could it be? Rougaru always seemed to find her, no matter what she did to avoid him, and this white-faced jerk had the nerve to look lost as he came into her territory, like she hadn't practically given him her address. Stallions, she scoffs, a shrewd expression clouding her fine features. Do they ever listen?

"Have you come for the truth, then? Because if you're here for anything else," she says, "you can get the Hell out." Temper, she tries to warn herself - but just as quickly, she checks herself, stubbornly tamping down the urge to soften her sharp edges into a more welcoming shape. No. He can have her kindness when he's earned it. Coming here is a step in the right direction - listening to her side of things, even moreso - but the path back to her good graces is a long one, with many twists and turns, and he still has very far to go.
