"I left from the Prairie." A twinge of fear crosses her face as she considers Zevulun and Romulus. Did he hurt them? Viveka knew that Rafe would show up eventually to the Prairie, though he probably hadn't presumed she would leave on her own accord. Relief floods her when he confesses that Zevulun is fine. Her brows knit together as he reveals that Fell had challenged Rafe for her. This was not the first time Viveka had been challenged for. There had been Enya too. Viveka didn't know either of these two. Why did they want her? She had nothing to offer them except emotional trauma. A sinking part of her believes that Rafe is not telling her everything but she's already reeling enough from him being here, that she doesn't have the capacity to inquire further.

Her eyes drift to their shared son, the light of her life. The only thing keeping her firmly grounded in all of this is him. He gleefully laces his way through Rafe's legs. She smiles a little at the image. Of what could be for her. If she could just accept what Rafe was offering at face value. Could she do that? Cassian practically crawls out of his skin when Rafe reveals their relationship. It's not that Viveka hadn't told him he had a father. She just hadn't been able to talk about him. "You're my dad?" His little voice says in astonishment, his eyes wide with surprise. "Mom that's SO cool." She chuckles, her shoulders softening. He disentangles himself from his father's legs to stand a little taller. "I'm Cassian!" He boisterously announces.

Home.
