Joe has run the stationary wing in addition to a moveable one on his 00 cars for many years. I asked him about it in the pits many years ago. He said something like "I like to change things up" in response. I noticed that he didn't take his 18th starting spot in the feature start, but hovered around at the back of the pack...clearly he was only out there for the $1200 pay to start. He time-trialed at 15.8 seconds, which was about 1 second behind the fastest cars, but he was faster than other cars that took the green, including Russ Wood (16.03). The Colloca 41 experienced problems that kept the car in the pits during hot laps. I'm looking forward to see if Russ and John can improve on the 2021 Classic's 5th place finish. An Oswego Classic win is the only thing that is missing from Woody's phenomenal supermodified resume.
