I am the monster in the woods;

Loupgaru was not quite sure how he felt about Parvati ‘claiming’ him. The wolf within him wanted to do nothing more than snarl his fangs and dare her to try her luck against his sharpening battle skills. He wanted to teach her a lesson, to curl his neck across her own as he took her beneath him. He wanted to dig his fangs into the soft (from what he can remember from their previous coupling) flesh of her withers and guide her into submission. He wants to teach her that he is a wolf that cannot be tamed. Despite gaining the upper hand in their little sparring match, the painted stallion still remained.

Truthfully, the Inlet was not all bad. Sure he would be content with a few less stallions roaming around the place, or having to watch from a distance as the mare that he had marked for his own got cozy with some other leggy brute. He particularly found his rage flaring when he saw the young foals nuzzling up to the particular stallion of Parvati’s favor. For all he cared, the wolves could be circling the brute and he would not lift a hoof to help. Actually, he might watch just to spite.
He told himself it was only fall that had him up in arms about the outward displays of affection and that he truly cared less. He told himself that he had conquered the Inlet queen and the prancing filly she called ‘Devi’ was proof enough he needed. He told himself that he preferred it when the mares came running to him as the blue roan girl had done his first day here. Whether it was all true was still to be seen. But as the fall months began to give way to winter’s chill, a new sense of excitement began to course through his veins. Despite having grown up in the jungles of Atlantis, Loupgaru was surprised and even a bit thrilled by how quickly his once silky hairs shed out into the long thick blanket to help keep the chill at bay, even on a day like today when snow and icy rain fell together. Despite his thick winter coat, even Loupgaru had sense enough to find shelter beneath the tall spruce trees. They did not block ALL of the freezing rain but at least he no longer felt like a drenched dog.

Giving his shaggy coat a quick shake, he settled comfortably into grazing on the roots of the yellowing grasses that still tried to hold onto life beneath the treetops. It was peaceful here. If he were truly honest with himself, and anyone else who ever bothered to ask, Paradise had gotten rather…. Full as of late. Everywhere he turned there was another brother, sister, niece or nephew to bump into and despite himself, he could find no attracting the eyes of the Paradise mares away from his sire. Not that he wanted to anyway. Most of them had been around since his birth or shortly after and well, they were more like mother figures. It was hard to tell his raging hormones that it was okay to want them with that thought in his head. Gross. That had been what led him to the meadow that day that he and Parvati shared their illicit interlude. He blamed his sire yet again however unfairly.

Thinking of the ice princess now drew up a whole new set of feelings. Jealousy started to rear its ugly head and darken his vision causing him to grind his teeth particularly hard on a mouthful of moss and lichen. Fall had come and gone and not once had the damned woman shown any interest in seeking him out to continue the bloodline they began. What made matters even worse was that she was constantly coming and going and flaunting her feminine figure in front of plenty of other stallions… except him. Apparently she had taken their little sparring match more personally than he had. Damn her. He stomps his hoof in agitation, kicking his heels back against the rough bark of the tree and dodging as the shuddering branches rained down icy droplets of water only his semi-dry skin. Dark ears fold backwards as he ducks further into the wooded canopy, his muzzle rummaging over the damp earth. Her scent hung heavy here and for a moment, he considered turning back the way he had come in hopes of avoiding her and any further arguments. He thought about it; but it was fleeting and well, hell… he was looking to pick a fight. Fueled by a tidal wave of emotions and irritation, he stalks her trail through the trees until he can just make out her painted figure scratching against the rough bark of a tall pine, apparently immune to the rain of ice water that splattered the ground around her.

A wolfish grin slides across his face as golden eyes fix her in his steady gaze. ”What happened? Your new boy-toy tire of you already?” the last words delivered with a bit more venom than he meant for her to hear. He halts his lazy steps a few paces away from her, a hard glare in his golden eyes. ”When exactly do you plan to introduce me to MY daughter? Or have you already got her calling HIM daddy.” he barks, switching his cream and caramel tail irritably against his muscular flanks. It was a low blow, even by his standards. But he was looking for an outlet to his frustrations and so far, Parvati fit the bill.
