Dick and I lived and played golf together at Kingsmill in Williamsburg Va. for 27 years. We could have moments of intense disagreement( Surface Warfare vs Air Force) but I loved him dearly and would have followed him anywhere in combat. Both his father and older brother died of Alzheimer so the ending was pretty much inevitable.
