My heart has teeth;

NYIMARA
I'm headed straight for the castle;

Nyimara knows she has given him more fuel than she intended to. Despite her best attempt to remain calm, cool and collected, the gentle prodding of Rehoboam was apparently too much for the proud beast to handle. Damn it. Despite her ranting, the painted son of Solomon remains silent and still, as though he too were rooted deep into the sands like the shading Acacia trees beneath which they sheltered from the hot, noonday sun. That is, until she charges towards him. Instead of shying away from her brash action as she had expected him too, Rehoboam tenses his body as though taunting her to take aim. Where she not in the middle of a full blown rant, she might have let the beast loose to meet him. The hunger of autumn was not so far behind them that she did not toy with the idea of foreplay or wonder what the taste of his blood might be.

Despite the challenge of his stance, he remains calm and levelheaded as his inquisitive tones burn into the space between them. He goes on to remind her that she had gone from trinket to preferred playtoy of the bachelor’s Boss. The reminder brings a Cheshire grin to her lips but the scoffing snort is anything but pleased. ”I was a queen until your father decided to banish me from Tinuvel. I was traded away like nothing…. Like a trinket.” she fumes. ”So yes I blame you. I blame your father. I blame the lagoon stallions and anyone else who would dare to turn their nose up at me or treat me as less than I deserve.” she snarls.

He gives his thick mane a shake, the damp tendrils snapping audibly against the muscular curve of his gray and white neck. Once more immune to her venomous tones, he paces towards her with all the languid vigor of a stallion bored of the current companionship. Her dark eyes narrow at the thought and her lips press together firmly but she tries not to rise again to his bait. She had already given him far more than he had revealed to her. Somehow, the tides were turning on this little interrogation and she was not quite sure that she liked the direction it was going. He remarks that Solomon allowed her to take her children with her when she went to the Lagoon and like gasoline to a fire she tosses back her head, ears pinned tightly against her skull. ”It was not like she would have survived without me! She barely survived the swim! And you think I should be grateful? Ha!” she scoffs again, stomping her hoof angrily into the sand, finding solace in the solid thud of compact sand. ”Solomon should count himself lucky… when I finally sink my teeth into him he will know what real helplessness feels like.” she snaps.

Shit.

There she goes again revealing far more than she meant to. And to the son of her enemy no less. If only she could learn to think first and react later. She had to give him credit, Reho was pretty good about pushing her buttons whether she would ever admit it aloud or not. Trying to shuffle the mask of indifference once more into place, she stifled a yawn and gave her dark body a firm shake. ”There are worse prisons out there I suppose…” she purrs, her tones dripping with honey soaked venom. ”Not many come to mind, but I am sure there are out there.” she teases, flicking her tail idly towards him and giggling impishly. ”However, I suppose I SHOULD make your stay more… pleasant.” she continues, arching her neck proudly to let her unreadable gaze settle firmly on his own dark eyes. ”I will give you a chance at freedom…. But it will cost you something in return.” she finishes, the cheshire grin spreading widely over her exotic features.
