CHARITABLE ADVERTISING on Web Site There are many worthwhile charitable causes in existence, but we can only accept sponsorship or fundraising efforts on Fusilier Association websites, that specifically support approved Fusilier charities. This essentially means that it is acceptable to use these pages to seek sponsorship for The Fusiliers Aid Society (which includes Fallen Fusiliers), and The Fusilier Memorial fund only. We now have our own dedicated justgiving site (http://www.justgiving.com/fusiliersaidsociety), which you can use to help raise money for your cause. If you let RHQ (Asst Regt Sec) know the specific cause you are raising money for, it will be directed to the correct fund. Messages soliciting sponsorship for causes or charities other than the Fusilier ones mentioned above should not be placed on the message board and may be removed by the Webmaster. G'day Bill
Still a long way behind you at 52 years wed this year 😊. Congratulations on your next anniversary 😆.
As you say the LF numbers are inevitably getting less with each passing day. As Dennis will confirm, it was a subject often discussed at length in the past with Joe and Colin. Joe tried on a number of occasions to work out how many LF's were still up and marching about, but it proved to be an impossible task due to lack of accurate data. He once asked a professional statistician to look into it but he too gave up due to their being to many variables.
It is true that in recent times the ' traffic ' on the message board has been much reduced. It has been commented upon a number of times and some have sadly become a little disheartened. It is however also true and can be confirmed by our usage data held by Board2Go, that we still have regular and often new visitors to the Web Site. All is not lost Ha Ha. I know of several of our colleagues who indeed like yourself, look in on the message board on a daily basis to see what the latest posts are......but very often do not themselves leave a post or comment. I can name at least four off the top of my head. As the Web Site Researcher and  Archivist I can confirm that I still get regular emails from people wishing to learn more about their LF family connections. The vast majority of those requests are not shown on the LF Web Site as they are dealt with on a private one to one basis. It does however prove that ' new ' visitors are looking in regularly and prompting enquiries. More than you would perhaps believe. From time to time Dennis will place some of the enquiries on the link 'Geoff"s research ' shown on the home page.
Yes, we are a dwindling bunch of ageing reprobates, but as Joe Eastwood often said we choose not to be ignored and will be around for a lot longer than folk think!
Chin up all...whose round is it?.....Maurice fill your boot 😆
