Deidre's gaze dances between her two sisters with unveiled interest, like a bystander at a tennis match. She cannot help but wonder what it would be like to have a big sibling that tried to boss her around. Aoife hadn't stayed long in the Inlet and Noname wasn't really the bossy sort, so the only authority Deidre had ever really had to deal with was her parents. Skadi and Thorin had been her equals, not her betters, even though they were the little prince and princess of the Inlet and she was just the other. She couldn't imagine obeying an older sibling. The one time she'd met Sigurdr, it had been to stop him from entering Da's kingdom, and they all knew how well that had turned out.

"Yeah!" Deidre exclaimed excitedly as Skadi's agreed to go, and the moment Skogsra's back was turned, the little dun filly proceeded to stick her tongue out at her elder sister's back and then took off like a tiny bat out of hell, clumps of dirt and rocks flying up behind her.

It was only when the sound of the adults' conversation faded that the girl slowed her frenetic pace and bounced to a jaunty halt with her tail flagged up high in the air and a mischievous gleam to her eye. She had angled to a place where she thought her momma wouldn't see either, because if Siobhan knew Da was back, she'd not only make Dei stay home, but she'd get all sad and tangled up inside again and Dei was a bit tired of seeing her sad. If she just saw Da, she'd stop worrying about all the what ifs, but Dei couldn't exactly magick him out of thin air.

"They're comin' here, right? Maybe he just landed in the wrong place. I think the Inlet is..." she cast her gaze around the pine tree forest in which they found themselves, as if that would grant her the knowledge of where she was. In truth, Deidre had been so confused by the whole process of moving that she hadn't paid much attention at all to the direction they'd gone. However, she didn't want to appear foolish in front of Skadi, and so she picked a direction she was at least 25% sure of and started that way. "This way!"

Without waiting for an answer, the little dun took off in that direction at a jaunty trot and peered back toward her sister with a broad grin that faltered as her curiosity grew. "So what did you even see out there?"
