It is not strange that the set of them eye each other up - strangers were best served doing so to new companions, at least if they didn’t want to be taken advantage of.
When Eness steps forward, he doesn’t interrupt or take away from her personal ability to defend herself, acquiescing easily for the verbal floor, so to speak. He isn’t the leader of the Sadim nor is he properly her Husband for several years - who was he to insist on anything at all. He sees the sharp keenness that appears at the mention of their sons and he prepares to bristle until the same eye fades away at the talk of their reaching maturity.
He did not know why sucha thing would trigger covetousness, not when she admits to there being a child already of her own in her life.
