Home is where your teeth sink in

I’ll keep the door open
in case you come home

Fell half-expects the white-slashed stallion to stay away. He is somewhat surprised to hear the friendly call from the beach, and when he ushers Dhaniyā to the edge of the trees, he sees that the midnight figure of Rigel is not alone. He is accompanied by a sable spotted mare and a white desert-bred woman with a topline of red. Fell is as close to impressed as he is capable of feeling for anyone other than his children.

Now that he has had some time to cool off, Fell does not rush the other stallion off the beach. Rigel is no longer unknown, and Fell need not question his purpose here. He meanders down to the beach with an almost lazy stride, and though he still inherently dislikes the presence of another stallion who is not one of his own sons within his territory, he is tolerant.

He comes to a halt a few strides away, and for a moment he ignores the two women with Rigel and addresses the other stallion with his gaze. The white-slashed male is decidedly not a coward, nor a thief, but Fell still has not come to a conclusion as to whether or not the Arabian is a threat or a competitor. So far, it seems he is neither, but Fell has never trusted another stallion so far, and he does not plan to start now.

Still, if nothing else Rigel has bought himself at least this instance of peace. Things might be different if the slender stallion washed up on his shores a third time, but Fell does not care to plan that far into the future. He gives the other man a curt nod, and turns his attention to the pair of mares standing close to one another. Neither looks fearful, or even so much as nervous to be here, as far as he can tell. The red-swiped one even looks bold.

Fell turns, sweeping his gaze about to locate Dhaniyā. The thought occurs to him that he could simply keep her here anyway, but he has been presented with such an obvious opportunity to not make another enemy, and he has already gained so much from this transaction, that he dismisses the idea. He does not need more disgruntled stallions coming after his herd.

When he spots her, he gives a sweep of his muzzle toward Rigel. He is not overly thrilled to let her go, but it’s not worth it at this point to change his mind.
