For those of us who spent some time in Canberra, many would have had a meal at Happy's Chinese Restaurant in Garema Place. I was a regular, particularly on Friday evenings after stand-down and a few coldies. Well, Happy's is celebrating 60 years of service and I have visited several times over the past several years when on visits to the ACT.
Only downer was when another person who will remain nameless, came with us for a feed and declared 'I'm not paying those prices (It wasn't expensive) and disappeared only to return when our meals had been delivered, with a packet of fish and chips and opened them at out table. I almost died from embarrassment and amazingly the staff didn't bat an eyelid. The food was great then and it is still the best Chinese restaurant in the ACT. Replies: There have been no replies.
