Meadow

"Get up!" The painted girl murmured to the similarly marked mare at her side, her side damp with sweat from where they'd nestled against each other. For a girl used to the bitter cold of Tinuvel winters, the balmy temperature of the Crossing was borderline uncomfortable, especially now that the winter storm had passed by and their coats had dried. They'd left in the middle of the night at the turn of the season, too eager to wait until daybreak. As a result, they'd arrived sodden and shivering in the dark with no clear idea of where to go next. They'd passed the first few hours speaking of where they would go and what they hoped to find, but eventually, the adrenaline of the moment faded and the exertion of the swim had coaxed them into sleep.

Margarita wriggled sideways, and pulled herself awkwardly upright so that she could shake off the thin blanket of snow that covered her back . She then turned her bright gaze to her half-sister expectantly. As her mother's only child, Margarita had been afforded a level of attention and entitlement that few of her other siblings enjoyed, and as such, was mildly affronted at having to wait for Aventuras at all. It wasn't that she disliked her sister, but having a companion along for her great big adventure was a tiny bit of a buzzkill.

"Do I look okay?" She prompted the moment that Aventuras was upright, having done her best to toss her mane and forelock just so that they lay attractively across her forehead. The prospect of meeting non-siblings had featured in her dreams all night long, and she was eager to see if the horse she'd dreamed of was real. She couldn't remember their markings, or their build exactly, but she was absolutely certain that she would know them when she saw them.
